Surely a player that lifts a foot while throwing, is at a disadvantage as he/she will be off balance. Reply ↓
I agree. When I raised that question on “Ask the Umpire” Mike Pegg’s answer was that he considered it to be an unfair advantage because “had the player kept both feet on the ground it is most likely he/she would have missed.” Mike is providing a valuable service to Anglophone players by making an international umpire (himself) easily accessible on “Ask the Umpire”. But many of his answers, including this one, make it difficult (for me, at least) to regard him as an authoritative interpreter of the rules of petanque. https://www.facebook.com/groups/128791213885003/permalink/1494710397293071/?comment_id=1497737230323721&reply_comment_id=1497986213632156 Reply ↓
